Golf Courses of Sun City

Thanks to the nine months of great golfing weather a year, Arizona is one of the most popular golfing destinations in the country, and if you’re brave enough to tough out the summer weather, you can even golf very cheaply.  If you’re new to the area, you may not have had the chance to explore the area.  Sun City and Sun City West is a premier location for active adult communities and are home to several golf courses for every skill level.  Here’s a look at Sun City, Arizona’s courses.

Willowbrook at Willowcreek

Opened in 1973, this 18-hole course is open year round and features all the hallmarks of golfing in Arizona.  Designed by George and Tom Fazio, Willowbrook features 2 sets of tees for different skill levels.

Lakes East and Lakes West

Lakes East is the executive course that will make you sharpen your short game skills and Lakes West is the 72 par regulation course that features beautiful lakes and creeks that are the hallmark of Arizona golfing.


North Golf Course, Sun City’s first course, is a beautiful 18-hole facility that opened in 1960, but was completely renovated in 2014. This course is a great challenge with three sets of tees for golfers of all skill levels. C


Riverview Golf Course is a semi-private 18-hole facility that opened in 1972.  It’s known for its undulating greens throughout the course, and if you can putt on the greens at Riverview, you can putt on any greens.

Quail Run

On top of being a great 9-hole executive course, Quail Run is a Certified Sanctuary by the Audobon Cooperative Sactuary System.  It is the seventh Arizona course to receive the honor.


South Golf Course is an 18-hole regulation course renovated in 2010.  It was named “the best value in the Phoenix metro area” by Golf Magazine.
